Finding the inspection (Service Advisor)

The Service Advisor sees all inspections initiated by them when the vehicle queue page opens. To narrow the search click in the menu bar.

Find completed inspections by using the Completed and Completed - Revised status filters on the Search page.

Locate the desired inspection in the results list and click in the row to open it to the Recommendation page.

Note: The Service Advisor can also create an MPI from the Search window if the inspection was omitted during write-up or when an inspection is requested after the write-up. Refer to Manually creating an MPI for more information.

 

From the Recommendation page of the inspection, the Service Advisor can review the recommendations and costs prior to contacting the customer. Refer to Recommendation page (Service Advisor) for more information about this page.

Note: This step can also be completed on the Recommendations page for the service lane in Workspace or Service Dashboard, if Digital MPI is enabled for the dealership.

Note: To review videos or images associated with a recommendation, go to the Inspection page and open the Technician Recommendation Window.

For each recommendation:

  1. Enter the total Hours in tenths. Then enter the Labor Rate or select a Labor Type (if configured for the dealership) to automatically set the labor rate. The total price, including any parts, is calculated automatically.
    • After selecting a labor type, the labor rate, price and total price amounts can still be overwritten if needed.
    • If labor grid pricing is also enabled for this Labor Type, the Labor Rate field is disabled and cannot be updated. The other fields can be overwritten if needed.
  2. If not set by the Technician, click "Parts Required" to indicate that parts are required for the recommendation. Note that this if for information only at this point and does not send a notification to the Parts Department or change the status.
  3. Note the "Stock Availability" icon set by the Parts Advisor. If 'See Parts List Tab' was selected, there is a combination of stock, not in stock and no status selected for the parts. Go to the Parts List page for the breakdown.
  4. When all recommendations are reviewed, click "Mark Reviewed" to update the status to .
